Community Partnerships Program

The Latinx Social Science Pipeline Initiative at UC Berkeley's Community Partnerships Program Overview

The LSSPI’s Community Partnerships Program supports community-based organizations working on implementing community-building and social service programs for Latinx communities. The program aims to develop collaborations with local organizations, develop links with faculty and researchers at UC Berkeley, offer them tools to build skills and systems to further their goals and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Through the Community Partnerships Program efforts, the LSSPI seeks to:

  • Connect UC Berkeley researchers, faculty and students with community organizations to facilitate co-constructive research agendas that serve local Latinx populations.
  • Provide start-up funds to help fuel the initial stages of these collaborations.
  • Facilitate conversations between UC Berkeley researchers and community stakeholders to explore more participative collaborative and less extractive forms of community-engaged research.

As of now, the LSSPI has a network of researchers with expertise in:

  • Qualitative Interviewing
  • Focus Group Methods
  • Survey-Based Research
  • Cross-Sectional and Longitudinal-Based Approaches
